Somewhere over the rainbow

The falling rain dissolves into mist
and the thunder begins to die,
as the sporadic lightning fades
an arch of color pours from the sky.
Rainbows appear after mighty storms
when things look their worst.
Just when the sky is darkest gray,
out of Heaven does a rainbow burst.
God first sent the rainbow to Noah
as a sign that His word is true.
The rainbow’s eternal message
still speaks to me and you.
The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise
that He will guide us through any storm,
That He will ease all our troubles,
No matter what their form.
When you feel battered by life’s storms
and you are filled with doubt and dismay,
just remember God’s rainbow is coming,
For it’s blessing you have only to pray.

What will Matter ~

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought but what you built, not what you got but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage, or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you are gone.
What will matter is not your memories but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

STill Love you , always will .........

I quit ...

I wrote: “I quit.”
Two simple words.  When I wrote it, I had my reasons.  Not just one reason, many.  But those two words summed up all of them.  The responses varied from people who were worried about what I meant, to jokes, to the response you would expect…”What?”
So, I decided to do this post on the many reasons for my mysterious statement.

I Quit:
  • …beating myself up because some decision I made ticked some people off.  It’s my decision, if you don’t like it, bugger off.
  • …caring whether or not my presence is important to you.  As they say, love your own company and you’ll never be lonely.
  • …waiting for you to show me that I’m important.  Actions speak a whole  of a lot louder than well thought-out words.
  • …believing people are all innately good.  To quote Maya Angelou, “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.”
  • …being the only one to reach out and try to make a friendship/relationship work.  If you don’t care enough to see my effort and put in some of your own, I don’t hate you, I’d just rather put my energy towards someone who appreciates it.
  • …thinking it’s “me”.  I’ve got people who really, truly know and care for me.  If you can’t see my worth, that’s okay.
  • …playing games.  I want authentic relationships with people.  If you want to talk to me, talk.  If you want to see me, tell me.  If you love me, show me.  Games are for kids and scared individuals.
  • …making excuses for people.  Think of those people you reach out to and those you avoid.  If someone wants to speak to you or be around you, they WILL.
  • …believing that my honesty and bared soul will automatically make others treat me kindly.  Some people are more comfortable seeing you through their own filter and trying to make you feel less than.
  • …trying to please EVERYONE.  I may not like everything You like, like going everywhere You like to go and think the way You do…that doesn’t make me WRONG, it makes me DIFFERENT.
  • …caring whether or not some part of who I am, what I believe or my way of thinking rubs you the wrong way.  If you truly love or care for me, you would accept me for being Exactly who I am, dents and all.
And finally, I Quit allowing others to take my energy and de-rail my emotions.  As Robert Frost once said, “You are educated when you have the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or confidence.”  I need that tattooed somewhere on me…
So, I breathe deeply and just let.it.all.go.  Join me and let’s just live.in.love.

The important thing in life is not to be bitter over life’s difficulties.
We should learn to let go of the past and recognize that everyday won’t be sunny,
and when we find ourselves lost in darkness and despair,
remember – it’s only in the black of the night that we can see the stars,
and those stars will lead us back home.
So, we should not be afraid to make mistakes,
to stumble, to fall. Because most of the time,
the greatest rewards come from doing things that scare us the most.
We don’t look for love because it’s lonely to be watching movies alone,
because it’s sad to eat meals on your own,
because it’s nice to cuddle up with someone on rainy days.
We look for love because we want to be accepted,
for the sloppy ways we dress, for the clumsy way we eat our meals,
for bad hair days and for the simplicity in us.
Love is an act of acceptance, that with all our imperfections,
we are accepted and loved.
In the maze of love, try not to lose yourself, so that when love is no longer willing to stay,
you still have the greatest posession and gift that no one could take away… yourself.
Once, I asked myself, “Is love a multiple choice test or is it true or false?”
Out of nowhere, a voice answered, “Sorry to tell you this, but love is a thousand word essay.”
Sometimes, when you love someone very much, you have to go through every tear,
every heartache, every pain.
Because in the end, it’s not how you suffered, but how much you loved!

Veteran's Day~ Thank you for serving or have served

The truth is: A soldier’s dream is a world where they‘re not needed! A hero’s heart honors those that have come before them. Today, have a soldier’s spirit and a hero’s heart! (Share it on!)
One of the biggest truths to living a satisfied life full of happiness is that when we have love, we pretty much have everything that we need. Sure, a person's possessions of material things are a plus to life, but the most important thing that we will have throughout our lives is the love that we share with the people we are closest to in our lives, and hopefully the love that is returned back from these same people.

There are many people in the world who have loads of material resources, such as clothing, money, cars, and houses, but even a man with a supreme material wealth has nothing if he has no one that loves him for who he really is on the inside. It is great to have dreams, material wealth, and friends who like you, but if you don't have anyone that loves you, or anyone that you love yourself, you may need to do some serious re-evaluating of your life in order to find real happiness.... —

It takes a strong person to say sorry, and an even stronger person to forgive.

Love, Do Good Think Big, Help People, Give it your BEST

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Love them anyway. "If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind. Think big anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People really need help but may attack if you help them. Help people anyway. Give the world the best you have and you might get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you've got anyway." Dr. Kent M. Keith American Author and Inspirational Speaker"

Giving, forgiving and loving ....

Giving ~ forgiving ~ loving ....

Where have I seen all of that before?
And I realize then that I see it every day. I see it when a coworker pauses to offer a kind word to someone having a hard day—a little morsel of encouragement that’s gobbled up with gratitude. I see it when my friend wraps her arms around her oh-so-tired little one and sees past the crankiness to the silent request for comfort and rest. I see it when a stranger on the street flashes a smile like an unexpected bit of chocolate tossed my way.
If I were with you now, I know I’d see it too. You’re feeding someone today. Who is the hungry heart in your life? Oh, what you do may feel small. It may feel unseen. But it matters. It’s noticed by the one who said, “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
Just in case no one has told you lately, I want to whisper this: Thank you for what you do. Thank you for feeding the hungry in your life in your own amazing way.
 The fall wind feels like a whisper around us today, winter is on it's way ....And so it goes—round and round. Giving, receiving, in need, meeting needs too. Are you meeting someone's need today, maybe just in writing them and saying "I love you , your not alone, or I forgive you , let's repair our friendship, life it too short to be angry , unforgiving , bitter ~ We are all going to the same place we better get along here on earth ....let's shed off our masks and be filled with compassion and love this day .... and keep feeding the hungry .....
Until we’re all so very full.

I Just Called To Say I Love You lyrics

No New Year's Day to celebrate
No chocolate covered candy hearts to give away
No first of spring
No song to sing
In fact here's just another ordinary day

No April rain
No flowers bloom
No wedding Saturday within the month of June
But what it is, is something true
Made up of these three words that I must say to you

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

No summer's high
No warm July
No harvest moon to light one tender August night
No autumn breeze
No falling leaves
Not even time for birds to fly to southern skies

No Libra sun
No Halloween

No giving thanks to all the Christmas joy you bring
But what it is, though old so new
To fill your heart like no three words could ever do

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart,
of my heart

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart,
baby of my heart

Day # 5 of Thankfulness: Had the most awesome day spent with awesome friends, beautiful weather, and wonderful food ~ May we keep Praising , Keep a song in our heart, most of all keep Loving .....Life is Good

Friday, November 4, 2011

Your Father knows what you need before you ask.” Matthew 6:8 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit or stand. When far away You know my every thought. You chart my path ahead of me, and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment, You know where I am. You know what I am going to say before I even say it. Psalm 139:1-4

I don’t know about you , but I’ve continually for 52 years of life, put down , picked up …confession time here I guess. I am weak but he is SO strong, HE turns me around , HE knows me , HE Charts my path, HE tells me when to rest and when to run , He knows every word that comes out of my mouth, He knows everything that I’m thinking from the time I wake up to the time I slumber. Why is it then we have a habit of picking up what we have laid at his feet and asked him to take care of it for us ? Is it because we feel sorry for HIM and want to help HIM out? Are we weak in faith? Do we want to have it Our way ? I"m  thinking it’s trusting him that HE CAN DO WHAT HE SAYS….but it will be HIS WAY NOT OUR WAY in HIS OWN TIMING ~~HE LOVES US THAT MUCH …I’m going to LAY IT AT HIS FEET AND WALK AWAY, HOW ABOUT YOU ! Happy Friday all…..Missing you friend...hope all is well..

Forgiveness is the hardest thing to do or is it?

My honest efforts to forgive those who have hurt me sometimes fall short of reach.

In place of forgiveness, my soul would struggle with self-guilt.  I’d pretend I was untouched by old wounds.  I was fine.

I’ve been learning that forgiveness doesn’t come from a vending machine called prayer.

Forgiveness is a continuing reminder for us to pray — to grieve, to heal — each time our wounds ache. Truth Be Told

Is forgiveness a one time act of conviction?

If I forgave, I wouldn’t be angry any more.  I wouldn’t be so hurt.

Truth be told, all I really wanted was to forget .

The forgiveness God offers isn’t amnesia of the past.

Forgiveness frees us to be honest about what we’ve lost, so God can comfort us in the moment.

Forgiveness frees us to grieve. A New Practice

When painful feelings surface from old wounds I honestly believe I forgave, I used to beat myself up for failing to forgive.

As I prayed and read the Bible to find God’s view on the matter, my soul was soothed.

Jesus was right there next to me, comfortable and at ease with my frailty, loving me.

The truth is that even though I have forgiven, it doesn’t mean I’m done grieving.

I began a new practice whenever old wounds felt fresh.

I used my sadness and anger as triggers to invite God into places I was still hiding my true feelings.

In turn, those moments have unearthed new levels of intimacy with Jesus.  It’s kept me vulnerable and real with God and others. Tender Places

If your soul is aching for some relief on forgiveness, I’d like to encourage you today:

Stay in those hard places and have a conversation with God about it.

Talk out loud as you take a walk alone outside.

Or write God a very long letter.

For the really tender places , I would spend some uninterrupted time with my head bowed in silence and turn my palms upward.  I become a child ready to simply receive God’s grace and understanding.

To practice forgiveness the way Jesus calls us to, we are inviting God to enter into our pain — a place of faith.

Forgiveness, after all, was never meant to be robotic.

That’s why God gives us faith.

(After Jesus told the disciples forgiveness needs to happen seven times seven times a day…) “The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith !”
The Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea ‘; and it would obey you.” Luke 17:5-7

~~~~~
What have you found in your journey to forgive?
Rest for your Soul ....~ do you and or I need it
On the days you feel as if nothing is happening in your life, those are the times your soul is asking you for some time to bake in God’s presence.
Instead of doing more to fill that space –
Pull back.
Lie down.
Go outside and walk in silence.
Sit.
Take a long shower.
Park your car.  Roll down your window.
Find solitude.
Be available for God to speak.
When you take time to wait and listen for God to speak, you’re giving your soul dessert to eat.
So Eli directed Samuel, “Go back and lie down. If the voice calls again, say, ‘Speak, God. I’m your servant, ready to listen.’”
Samuel returned to his bed.
Then God came and stood before him exactly as before, calling out, “Samuel! Samuel!”
Samuel answered, “Speak. I’m your servant, ready to listen.”
It’s interesting to see that the one place God chose to speak to Samuel was his bed.
It’s where Samuel rested , where he was alone , waiting and expectant .
Because God made our personalities and sensitivities unique, your place of rest could be — music, reading, taking pictures, writing, or baking.
It’s that place where you are released from productivity and and makes you available for god.
That is where your soul will find rest.
The aroma of having been with God alone is going to waft through you.
So go on.
Splurge some time to really listen.
~~~~~

When was the last time you heard from God?

What were you doing and where were you resting?
Find someone who isn't afraid to admit that they miss you. Someone that knows your not perfect but treat you as if you are. Someone who's biggest fear is losing you....♥♥

Sometimes the thing you most wanted doesn't happen.
And sometimes the thing you never expect does...

You will meet thousands of people but none of them really touch you.
and then you meet one person and your life will be changed forever ♥♥ —

Tears wash away the sadness~

Have you ever cried ~ and you felt there was no end....

Yesterday’s tears build a river,
Washing the soul of its pain…
Cleansing the heart and mind,
Like a gentle sweet spring rain.
When you feel you have cried your river
And the throat aches from tears shed
And the mind is exhausted from feeling
Or the heart feels it is now dead…
Raise your eyes to the skies and recall
How beautiful a full moon can be.
See the stars shining gently on us all,
And remember how good friends can be.
Call that friend you know is there,
Waiting to help you escape your pain,
The one who does not judge, but listens,
So you can love again!

Dewdrops of the day

LIKE A FRESH DEWDROPS of a new day...
may GOD'S loving hands be upon you today
to freshen your soul & body, and help you on your way ♥

This picture reminds me of days I've had where I'm hanging there ready to fall......but God's hands are holding me ~ he encourages me to climb upon his lap and rest this day . Rest from the confusion of the world, the job, the noise , the traffic, the financial, the medical, the schedules, just be me ...I'm thinking of those I miss, that I love with all my heart...."sigh" wish I could reach out and touch ....
